Slot Attendant

PURPOSE

The Slot Attendant must report all operational exceptions/concerns to the Slot Manager.  The Slot Attendant must promote and maintain the utmost integrity and the highest caliber of customer service and respect to all patrons, staff and AGLC personnel.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acts as a front-line guest service liaison, answering questions, assisting with orientation of games and facility working to create a positive gaming experience for all guests.

  • Ensure patrons are being provided with superior customer service.

  • Commitment to learning what our patrons needs and wants are.

  • Willingness to discover opportunities to exceed the customer’s expectations.

  • Ensure Slot Machines are functioning properly

  • Do minor repairs to malfunctions of machines, bill jams, ticket jams, checking game history, paper outs

  • Clearing bill/ticket jams and checking game and voucher history to maintain game integrity and answer questions and resolve disputes

  • Seeking out and addressing guests’ needs with machine problems

  • Pay out jackpot wins, making change for customers and cashing tickets when requested

  • Monitor and report suspicious cash activities

  • Ensure slot floor meets desired presentation for our patrons, sections are clean and tidy throughout hours of operation. (Cleaning the gaming floor by picking up empty bottles, cups, wiping down machines, emptying ash trays, and pushing chairs in.)

  • Assist supervisor for coverage of breaks

  • Assist in awareness of upcoming casino promotions

  • Winner’s Edge promotions

  • Maintain an AGLC gaming worker’s license

  • Familiar with AML/FINTRAC protocols

  • Take direction from Management when called upon

  • Any other duties as required 

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

The Slot Attendant will work closely with the Slot Manager.   This position requires the ability to communicate clearly, deal tactfully and work effectively with casino patrons, fellow staff, and management.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND /OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma an asset

  • Must be able to register with AGLC

  • Proficiency in Microsoft office applications, including work, outlook, power point and excel as asset

EXPERIENCE

  • Exceptional customer service skills

  • Able to adapt to procedural changes when deemed necessary by house or AGLC guidelines

  • Large cash handling or banking experience an asset

WORKING CONDITIONS

A Slot Attendant will spend majority of their time on the slot floor.  It would require the ability to work shift work, late nights, weekends, and holidays. The Slot Attendant will be working in a smoking facility.
