Maintenance Repair Worker

PURPOSE

The primary purpose of the Maintenance Repair Worker is to maintain a safe environment at Bear Hills Casino. The key role would be to upkeep the general maintenance of the facility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • General maintenance and repair tasks

  • Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance requests on a wide variety of specialized equipment

  • Work on general structural maintenance and semi-skilled trade work

  • Carry out preventative maintenance according to established program schedule

  • Provide a wide variety of support service to other departments

  • Provide expertise and assistance regarding casino facilities and equipment to internal and external parties

  • Carry out regular exterior maintenance, weather permitting, ie: maintain the lawn, pick up garbage, signage, snow removal, etc.

  • Provide a clean and safe casino environment for staff and guests

  • Take direction from management when called upon

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

The maintenance person will work closely with the Facilities Manager as well as the management team.  This position requires the ability to communicate clearly, be a team player, work independently and take personal responsibility for tasks and deadlines.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND /OR EXPERIENCE

  • Communicate clearly and accurately verbally and written

  • Must be a team player, demonstrating respect and consideration of others

  • Be able to operate basic janitorial equipment, including shampooers, vacuums, etc

  • Previous maintenance experience would be an asset or experience in a trade relating to maintenance

WORKING CONDITIONS

Irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays can be expected.  Bear Hills Casino is a smoking environment; therefore you will be exposed to tobacco smoke, high noise levels, dust and sharp objects.
