Finance Assistant
PURPOSE
The Finance Assistant is responsible for providing support to the finance department with a strong emphasis on accuracy and analysis. Reporting to the Finance Manager the Finance Assistant will ensure they adhere to protocols set out by the casino management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reconcile daily transactions for Food & Beverage department
Prepare daily deposits
Reconcile ATM transactions and maintain ATM floats
Reconcile TRK transactions and floats
Daily reconciliation of payroll, time sheets and related costs
Data Entry of Daily Departmental results
Maintenance of Casino track records and results
Record and reconcile Petty Cash transactions
Data entry in accounting and payroll systems
Assist in preparing of monthly financial reports and board reports
Backup coverage for soft count duties
Backup coverage in absence of Finance Manager
Other related duties
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
This position requires communicating clearly and working effectively with Finance Manager, Bear Hills Casino management, supervisors and staff.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND /OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma an asset
Must be able to register with AGLC
Entry level accounting an asset
EXPERIENCE
Large cash handling or banking experience an asset
Previous casino count room experience an asset
Excellent customer service skills
Basic math (counting currency)
Proficiency in Excel
Ability to reconcile statements
Self-starter comfortable working both in a team environment and independently
Detail oriented
Knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards and Payroll legislation an asset
WORKING CONDITIONS
The Finance Assistant will be required to work with other count room clerks. It would require the candidate to possibly start early mornings until early afternoon. The schedule varies and must be available weekends and holidays.
