Security Officer
PURPOSE
The primary role of this position is to ensure the security standards and ensure policy and procedures are maintained. The Security Officer will demonstrate leadership and a professional image to all guests, employees, local community representatives, vendors and governing agencies while maintaining employer standards for guest satisfaction, employee satisfaction, quality assurance and asset protection.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivering excellence in customer service
Responsible for ensuring that the Casino property is secure and safe for all patrons and staff
Enforce AGLC liquor laws and/or age restrictions
Patrols casino parking lot to ensure security of doors and premises
Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees and patrons
Call RCMP or fire department in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons or in the event of a robbery
Answer telephone calls and redirect or take messages
Watch for infractions of rules and regulations, criminal activity
Creates accurate records of any incident that occurs while on their shift
Takes out bottles and garbage to bins.
Assist other casino departments with chip runs. TRK refills, bussing of bottles, taking garbage to outside bins and other light maintenance duties as required
Assist in the set-up and tear down of in-house banquets/meetings and/or events booked
Provide security for various draws/specials, throughout the year
Take direction from Management when called upon
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
This position requires the ability to communicate clearly, deal tactfully and work effectively with Bear Hills Casino management, staff, and patrons. The incumbent in this position will primarily work with Security Officers and management.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Security Officers schedule may vary and would require the ability to work late nights, weekends, and holidays. Bear Hills Casino is a smoking facility; all employees are required to be able to work in a smoking environment.
