Lounge Supervisor

PURPOSE

The primary purpose of the Lounge Supervisor is to exercise direct control over the lounge of Bear Hills Casino.  To achieve planned goals for operational integrity as measured by revenue and cost controls which are consistent with the governing gaming and liquor rules and regulations. The Lounge Supervisor will demonstrate leadership and a professional image to all guests, employees, sales accounts, local community representatives, vendors, competitors, and governing agencies while maintaining employer standards for guest satisfaction, employee satisfaction, quality assurance and asset protection.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure accurate inventory control of all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. 

  • Prepare and place all stock orders pertaining to Beverage   when department manager is unavailable.

  • Scheduling staff, completing yearly employee evaluations, working with HR on corrective counselling, when necessary, when department manager is unavailable.

  • Ensure proper stock rotation and implement promotions designed to clear out old stock prior to its expiration.

  • Develop and implement short term and long-range promotional activities and objectives and specify the strategies and actions to achieve them.

  • Provide information to fellow managers and subordinates on all promotions in the Lounge dept to ensure all departments are aware of what is happening.

  • Organize, plan, and prioritize work and develop specific departmental goals and how they will be accomplished.

  • Develop and build teams to encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members. If necessary, the Lounge Supervisor will become involved in coordinating the work and activities of others to work together to accomplish tasks.

  • Guide, direct, and motivate subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.

  • Analyze all departmental information and evaluate results to act on the best solutions available in order to solve problems.

  • Develop weekly staff schedules that effectively meet the needs of the business and is in line with monthly labor budgets.

  • Ensure that the vision, mission, values and strategic direction of the Louis Bull Tribe and Bear Hills Casino Management Team are conveyed through effective leadership and support of Management directives and decisions.

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

The Lounge Supervisor requires the ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with Bear Hills Casino guests, management, and staff.  The incumbent in this position will primarily work with a lounge staff and Food and Beverage Manager.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The Lounge Supervisor must be able to respond or work on any given day.  The Lounge Supervisor must have the ability to focus on a computer for an extended period or spend long periods of time on one’s feet.  The Lounge Supervisor will be required to work extended hours during the week and on weekends in order to meet the objectives and deadlines of the Employer.  The Lounge Supervisor will be working in a smoking facility.
